Who is Jesus Christ?   You ask.
Jesus is God's Son.  He is also the best friend I have.  If you have a moment, I would like to introduce you to my friend.  He wants to be your best friend, too.
Why did Jesus come to earth?
When God created humans he gave them the ability to choose between right and wrong.  He did this because He loves us, but does not want to force us to love Him.  He wants us to make the choice on our own whether we love Him or not.  Without this choice we would simply be robots following His orders.  God wants our choice to be ours and be personal.  Because of this ability to choose, a problem arose.

                                             "We make wrong choices."

Because God is perfect we are not allowed to come into His presence unless we are perfect, too.  Since God knew that at some point in our life we would make wrong choices that would cause us to not be perfect, He made a way for us to be able to come into His presence.   God sent His son, Jesus, to earth as a baby.   Christmas is the day we celebrate Jesus Christ's birth.    Since Jesus never sinned                  during His life on earth, He became God's perfect sacrifice for us.  Jesus                    died on a cross so that our sins could be forgiven.  Not only did Jesus                        die, He then defeated death by coming back to life.  Jesus' resurrection                      from the grave is why we celebrate Easter.  So the reason that Jesus came to earth is because God loves us very much and wants us to be with Him in Heaven forever.   Jesus can save you!

What is Jesus saving us from?
He can save us from Hell.   Just like the laws here on earth that tell us what is right and wrong, God has a set of laws also.  Just like on earth where there are consequences if you do the wrong thing, God also has consequences for our sin.  The consequence for sin is Hell.  God didn't stop there.  He allowed Jesus to die as a way to save us from Hell.

Why would a loving God send me to Hell?
God does not want to send any one of us to Hell.  He loves us and wants each of us to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.  However, in order for us to be able to make a choice there has to be two options:  Heaven or Hell.   God doesn't send us to Hell, but He does give us the choice to go there.   So the real question here should be,

"Why would I allow myself to go to Hell?"

How to receive God's Free Gift of Salvation!!!!!!

1.  God's purpose is that we have eternal life.

"For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have
            everlasting life."                                    John 3:16

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord."     Romans 6:23

Jesus said,   "I am come that they might have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly."    John 10:10

2.   We need to understand our problem.

"There is none righteous, no not one."   Romans 3:10

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
                                                                               Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord."     Romans 6:23

3.    God's provision is Jesus Christ.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God."                   John 1:1

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father)
full of grace and truth."                     John 1:14

"Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for
               our justification."                                Romans 4:25

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become
the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
                                                                               John 1:12

4.    Our response is to receive Jesus.

"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the
presence of the Lord."                     Acts 3:19

"For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God."                           Ephesians 2:8

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved.              Romans 10:9

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
                                                                               Romans 10:13
